8 Month Photoshoot

We got a new photographer for Abigail's 8 month photos.  We love her!  She is very sweet and easy to work with.  Her pictures are a lot less posed than our previous photographer and when we look at them we think "Yep, that is exactly how she looks these days" (especially the ones with her finger in her mouth!)
We went to Ross Bridge and what a great place!  Prefect for pictures but also a great place to hike or picnic.  The first Saturday we met it started raining right after we got there but we were able to reschedule for the next week and had beautiful weather.  Here are my favorites.

New Dresses, Eating and Swinging

I found these adorable dresses for Abigail on Etsy.  This lady actually lives in Auburn.  She does great work and gets it to you very quickly.  I can't wait for her to wear them!

Garage Games One

This past weekend Andy competed in a CrossFit competition in Suwanee, GA.  Abigail and I went along to cheer him on!  Andy worked Friday night so we headed out early Saturday to watch the individual competition.  A few of our friends competed that day.  The venue was great....it was a sports academy and it was huge.  Two large gyms with an eating/lobby area in between.  There were tons of vendors selling clothes, supplements, paleo meals and granola.  We spent the day there then grabbed some dinner and checked in late at the hotel.  Abigail does not sleep well in new places.  I don't know if its the pack-n-play mattress or just being somewhere new but she only slept 2 hours by herself.  I put her in the bed with us and she slept but Andy and I did not.  The team competition was on Sunday so we got up early to get the guys checked in by 8am.  The team competition consisted of 3 workouts.  I will list them below along with how the guys did.  We finished up around 5:30, headed straight home (with a little detour to take our friends home) and made it there around 9.  We were exhausted but had a great time.  Everyone kept saying how well Abigail did....and she did do great except for a little while in the car on the way home.  We took a blanket for her to play on and I took my Ergo carrier for her to nap in.  Thankfully we had some very sweet friends there to help carry her around.

Team WodLife came in 10th place!  Here is the breakdown.
WOD # 1
4 Athletes at different stations
4 minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)

8 Months Old

Abigail was 8 months old this week.  Tuesday to be exact.  She has been sick all week so she has a red nose in her pictures...I even got one of her coughing.  We are blessed that this is only the second time she has been sick but it makes me so sad to hear her cough and struggle to breathe.  Even through all the snot she has still been pretty happy and has slept good.

Here are the new things she is doing at 8 months:
She has started saying a lot of new sounds.  She has even said "ma ma" a couple of times.  I can't wait for her to start saying that one consistently.
She reaches to be picked up or when she wants someone else to hold her.
She is eating finger food very well.
Her hair is finally growing in some.
Abigail still doesn't move around a lot but she has started schooching (is that really a word?) around while sitting.  And, just this morning while playing in the crib she got from her stomach to sitting up.  We were so excited!
Another big one is she is sleeping through the night!!!  This is huge!  It took a week of being strong and letting her cry a little but it was worth it because now all of us, especially her, get all the sleep we need.  Many people will not agree with us using the "cry it out" method but we have tried everything else without getting results.  We both believe that one week of crying some at night is not going to have long term effects on her emotionally or socially.  And, in the end, she is much happier getting the sleep she needs!  We knew she wasn't hungry she had just developed a schedule of waking in the middle of the night.  Once we got her off that schedule we haven't had to go up to her since.  She will make some noise every night but its only for a minute.  When she wakes in the morning she is happy and plays in the crib until I can go up and get her.

Here are our monthly pictures.  She is wearing pj's that her Grammy and Paw Paw gave her that say "Born to be Wild".  So cute!
Coughing...poor baby.
Daddy is soooo funny!
